Sr Scientist - Applied Research Skin Transformation

I. MAJOR FUNCTION

Identify new strategies to dramatically improve the appearance of the skin (targets such as: skin tone, dark spots, wrinkles) through the design of new technologies and prototype formulations which work alone or in synergistic associations with device.

Work in a team-oriented international environment (Instrumental Cosmetics, Applied Research, Advanced Research, and Development). Collaborate with various external groups.


II. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Evaluate and characterize technologies and develop formulations containing those technologies which provide dramatic improvement to the skin surface / appearance in a quick and long-lasting manner.

· Develop evaluation screening methods on synthetic skin substrates or ex vivo skin to study the performance of the different technologies

· Work closely with Instrumental Cosmetics teams in France and Seattle, Regulatory, Safety and Evaluation to design the clinical trials.

· Maintain good knowledge of competitor’s patent environments and close awareness of consumer need gap and marketing trends.

· Put in place a patent strategy that will safeguard the technology and device


· Manage external collaborations as required



DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

· Ph.D. in Biomaterial Science, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Surface science.

· Good knowledge of structure and property of biomaterials. Preferably with hands-on experience in dermatological/cosmetic industries with knowledge in skin/hair, and/or drug delivery or surface treatment.

· Ability to manage different projects in association with many teams (internal and external), design/perform in vitro/ex vivo experiments independently and deliver reliable data.

· Creative and self-motivated. Ability to think out of the box and willing to take an extra step to get the job done. Organized in experimental records and related documents.

· Excellent communication skills. Must be legally eligible to work in the US on an on-going basis
