Get a new tax advisor.

SPNGQ is an unmarketable security - you cannot sell it. The corporation underwent Chapter 7 liquidation and has ZERO assets and (as a Chap 7) does not discharge the debts and liabilities. It has no management and no directors. It has no prospects except dissolution. You are unable to sell it.

It is indeed a worthless security. There is no criterion that is not met for it being a worthless security.

Just because it has negligible trading volume does not make it a marketable security - it isn't.

Just get a letter from your broker indicating there is no market to sell it and you're golden.

And do get a better tax advisor.
