One would think that investors would attribute zero value to the shares. However, the stock still trades at $0.41, with a market capitalization of $116 million. Anything is possible with Molycorp - from a government bailout to the emergence of a white knight like Apple (AAPL) or Siemens (OTCPK:SIEGY), (OTC:SMQFY) who needs access to a steady supply of rare earths. Later this month shareholders are expected to vote on a proposed reverse stock split; such a split could drive the stock above $1 and avoid an NYSE delisting. A delisting would not impact the company's earnings but it could cause short covering - short interest is 57 million shares with over 15 days to cover.
