Dogs have been trained to detect different cancers since the mid 90's. They can detect the products produced by cancer cells through urine, sweat or breath. The accuracy is usually in the 70 percentile range with some dogs being higher.
It would appear that the lung cancer test referenced is now testing for compounds produced by lung cancer cells. Dogs are amazing animals.
