Another fantastic post from mgm
-----------------------------------------------
stock in a company that was developing something called "anti-sense technology" and had what they thought at the time was the latest and greatest potential advancement in medicine---and the stock was ONLY selling for $5 a share? And then the stock started to fall, not due to any news, but just people deciding to get out, move into something else---or just impatience because nothing was immediately coming down the pike to provide an instant spark to the stock. But, the stock and the company had stellar management and solid backing. So---having a very strong belief that the science was indeed something special and held a lot of promise, you decided to keep adding more stock on the way down and increase your position significantly while EVERYONE called you an idiot, a moron, and every other silly name under the sun---but you kept buying until the stock had dropped into the low $3's from over $5(Boy---that sure seemed like a big drop at the time). Now---it turns out that company's name is ISIS Pharmaceauticals, and having bought all that CHEAP stock(which may have seemed foolish and expensive at the time)---the science has indeed panned out and the stock is $65/share and your stock is now worth many millions of dollars. Now---move to the present day. You have the opportunity to invest in a company that SOLD ISIS their technology, and has developed the next generation of those compounds and is advancing the science right now? How foolish does it seem that everyone is SO concerned and consumed by the fact that the STOCK PRICE hasn't shot up YET? IDRA's day-----no----DAYS---and YEARS are coming, and the 3rd generation antisense SHOULD be better than the second---the scientist who had it should know. You can moan and groan----or you can take advantage--but IDRAs future is very bright---whether you can see it or not. Wish I would have done the same thing as been as foolish with another small company called Pharmacyclics a few years ago and bought down!
