See, the Alonzo Pierce Traveling Circus Show is not a serial drama like, say, Mad Men or Lost. It's actually what's known as an "anthology," like True Detective or American Horror Show, where the setting, scenery, story and character roles all change from season to season even though many of the same actors are playing various parts.

The TEXX season was kind of a prequel to the TEMN show, which initially blossomed with a lot of promise and drew in a lot of viewers, sputtered a bit in the middle but then ended with a pretty good cliffhanger with the transition into the next season: "Alonzo Pierce's Traveling Circus Show: Drinking The Top Shelf Experience." Unfortunately everything fell apart that season. Sure, there were some memorable characters -- the French guy, for example, or the lovable but crazy, wild-eyed uncle who only spoke in riddles that were either profound insights or unintelligible jibberish (nobody really knows for sure). But on the whole the characters were no longer believable and, frankly, the storyline a just got old. So many viewers complained that nothing ever happened and went on to watch other shows, and currently it has only a .0003 score in the ratings. Sad, really.

Anyway, the show is now gearing up for its next season, "The Year of ISBG: We Swear It's For Realz This Time." Critics expect more of the same old hackneyed dialogue, poor casting decisions, bad acting and utter disappointment that the show has come to be known for. Some even suspect he show will have its funding pulled before the season ends. I mean, how many times can they remake "The Three Stooges" before people finally have had enough?
