it's the magician's trick to make folks look in the wrong direction.
wave's unsafe harbour and its hedged assertions about the future distracts from a review of the results. it would be wonderful if there were two separate calls. one to understand past performance with a reasonable amount of time to digest the 10k.
and a quite different one to discuss the future.
it has been a bit safer to ignore the latter for quite a long time.
i have learnt to defer to the pattern of actual progress in order to develop extrapolations. a single sale can be useful (e.g. cash flow) but it is a point and not a pattern. i wrote a post about one swallow not making a summer shortly after the gm sale. repetition matters. it's nice to have reference points that make it seem one said something worthwhile every now and then.
