NO, No, No, NO.

The statin effect is is on the Delta5 Desaturase enzyme which controls the conversion of ALA into Archadonic Acid. This is independent of EPA levels so BC is correct the effect occurs in active and control.

Actually EPA tends to slow the conversion of ALA into AA so the placebo group is going to be hurt by the statins, more than the active arm.
