yes, hello hook.
while the technology is endlessly fascinating, i am reminded of a boy and his toys. the SR72 is still being developed, although, apparently, unmanned capabilities to deliver ordnance to any spot in the world directly from the plains of South Dakota within minutes is here. dangerous boy, indeed.

we in the USA already outpace the entire world in arms spending, and, unfortunately, fighting the last war (which was more than several wars ago - we are refighting ww2) in the interim, we have lost several major wars of our own choosing, due to asymmetry.

the large weapons we are boondoggling at the moment may give us insight and ability in space technology, but it is hard to understand why we don't direct our energies there without involving all of the arms merchants. actually not that very hard to understand - after all the MIC is what drives this countries policies. what is good for General Dynamics is good for America...

so much depends on whose interests we are talking about.
i am totally discouraged that we, as a nation, have made so little progress in our socioeconomic world.
the world seems to be in much disquiet, and there is in my mind, little doubt why.

now we are being directed to hate muslims, and think in terms of a "clash of civilizations".
when that well begins to run dry, China will probably be our next babaduk.
Orwell's eastasia.

and i thought cowboy jeans were impenetrable.
pardon my babble.
best wishes to this board which i follow religiously.
or secularly, as the case may be.
