MarkaH2 is correct. The ReliOn purchase was to bring in more reliable fuel cells in addition while adding a second source. The purchase also reduces cost. The additional benefit of having the second source has allowed Plug to renegotiate the warranty agreement with Ballard. In case you hadn't noticed, the high failure rate of the Ballard cells has been a big expense for Plug. This has been addressed in the 10-Ks for at least the last couple of years.
