I am sure that there is a lot more to it than this, but imo many present and potential retail investors are hesitant to buy stock after any gain because of the recent history of the stock's giving back some or all of the gain shortly thereafter including just recently.
Imo overall there is still an aura of mistrust and suspicion surrounding this stock.
Hopefully the fact that insitutions have started nibbling will increase the overall confidence here and will lead a more sustainable stock price.
