Tirex initiated our Corporate Partnership with the Product Stewardship Institute (PSI). Through this Corporate Partnership, we are part of an extended, collaborative network of businesses, environmental organizations, and other key players who, together, will share information, expertise, and find new and innovative ways to implement product stewardship approaches in our organization.

With this Corporate Partnership come certain benefits to all personnel, as well. Please visit the PSI website at http://www.productstewardship.us for general information about the organization. If you have any questions regarding our Corporate Partnership with PSI, please contact Laura Merli, PSI's Outreach and Communications Coordinator, at suzy@productstewardship.us or at (617) 236-8293.

AN ACT CONCERNING BENEFICIAL END USES FOR RECYCLED TIRES AND THE EFFICACY OF SCRAP TIRE HAULING LICENSES OR PERMITS. BILL 869
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection shall identify beneficial end uses for discarded tires in this state that result in the recycling of such tires rather than the burning of such tires for fuel. In identifying such beneficial end uses, the commissioner shall consider, but need not be limited to, the viability of establishing a tire stewardship program that provides for the recycling of discarded tires for the purpose of transforming such discarded tires into such beneficial end uses.
