I moderated a board here where the CEO held a note secured with the assets of the company. He then proceeded to bankrupt the company and took control of those assets. A high tech video codec--stuff that makes video compress and travel to your smartphone. He has since sold it to one of the big players--Google or AOL. I forget. But shareholders financed the development, then he flushed them and cashed in.
