Stan Lee, the renowned creator of some of the most popular superheros in the galaxy—like Spider-Man, X-Men, Iron Man, The Fantastic Four, and The Incredible Hulk—is finally adding a much-deserved hero into his graphic portfolio: himself.

Lee is writing a graphic memoir, to be published on Oct. 6, called Amazing Fantastic Incredible: A Marvelous Memoir. The illustrated work will cover Lee’s childhood in New York City’s Washington Heights neighborhood, his storied career as lead writer and editor-in-chief at Marvel Comics during its heyday in the ’60s and ’70s, and his present cameos in movies, like Avengers: Age of Ultron. Comic book artist Colleen Doran was handpicked by Lee to illustrate the memoir.

“As Marvel just celebrated its seventy-fifth anniversary, I thought maybe it’s time for a look at my life in the one form it has never been depicted, as a comic book… or if you prefer, a graphic memoir,” Lee said in a release. “It strikes me as a horrendous oversight that I haven’t done it before! If I didn’t know everything about my life already, I’d envy your voyage of discovery!”

From the enthusiastic humor of that quote alone, we’re confident this memoir will be nothing short of Incredible!
