Inovio Pharmaceuticals Rating Increased to Buy at Zacks (INO)

Inovio Pharmaceuticals logoInovio Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:INO) was upgraded by Zacks from a “hold” rating to a “buy” rating in a note issued to investors on Monday. The firm currently has a $9.00 target price on the stock. Zacks‘s price target suggests a potential upside of 10.97% from the stock’s previous close.

Zacks’ analyst wrote, “Inovio is focused on developing treatments for various cancer forms and infectious diseases We are positive on Inovio’s efforts to develop its lead oncology candidate, VGX-3100, which is scheduled to enter phase III development in early 2016. However, any hiccup in VGX-3100’s development would affect the company significantly. Most of Inovio’s pipeline candidates are in early stages of development and are thus quite a few years away from entering the market, if at all. The company largely depends on licensing collaborations, government grants and contracts for supporting its operations and pipeline development activities. The inability to secure sufficient funding could hinder pipeline development.”
