The SUV uses Lithium Ion

Look here: http://www.jonwayauto.com/car_cdd_suv.asp

Translated to English, it says, in part, “Jonway has completed the upgrade of technology, the maximum speed is greater than 80KM / h, mileage of 150 kilometers or more, one hundred kilometers consumption is now controlled within 15 degrees. Meanwhile, in the 220V home charging mode 8 hours to complete the charge, only need 20 minutes only at 380V fast-charge mode can achieve full status of 80%.”

What this basically means is that they are using Lithium Ion batteries, since I do not recall being able to recharge lead acid batteries in such a short time using such a high-voltage “fast charge” system.

Also, I understand that their low-speed vehicles are up-gradable to Lithium Ion for an extra fee (or they can be ordered that way with Lithium Ion pre-installed).

Furthermore, their passenger van uses the Lishen 32kWh Lithium Ion Battery pack, standard. This is the same van that Mullen sells, which Zap Jonway manufactures for them. You can see it on Mullen's web site.
