NEWS-4/15/15: "Theatricals Lead Impressive 45 Titles Summer Schedule"

"Theatrical Titles Lead Impressive Summer Schedule for Hannover House and Medallion Releasing"

NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / April 15, 2015 / Hannover House, Inc., (OTC: HHSE) and its Medallion Releasing multi-studio sales venture, will stake a leading post in the independent film distribution marketplace this summer with an impressive forty-five title release slate. Led by three theatrical titles and fourteen new release videos, the release schedule for June, July and August also includes six new DVD multipacks and twenty-two repriced titles for mass merchant budget bins, modular placement and sell-through outlets.

"The summer release slate represents the culmination of more than 18-months of work in restructuring the company's distribution strategy," said Eric Parkinson, C.E.O. "Our theatrical titles will act as leading titles to drive our visibility and revenues, with higher end direct-to-video titles supplementing the new release slate and multipacks and repricing activities harvesting significant sell-through revenues from our film library. 2015 is already shaping up to be a year of significant growth in both our volume of releases as well as revenues and overall corporate performance."

Three theatrical titles will lead the slate, beginning with the June 19 release of the supernatural horror-thriller, “Dark Awakening”, followed on June 26 with the acclaimed "The Algerian" and July 17 with the nature docudrama "Bonobos: Back to the Wild."

JUNE 19 - "DARK AWAKENING" - will open June 19, 2015 on approximately 200 screens in 65 markets, including all of the top 40 largest DMAs in the United States. Legendary visual effects master Dean C. Jones ("X-Men: First Class", "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Star Trek: The Next Generation") directs this intense, supernatural thriller about a small town with a very dark past. Principal cast include Lance Henriksen ("Aliens", "Terminator"), Valerie Azlynn ("Tropic Thunder", "Poseidon") and Jason Cook ("General Hospital", "Days of our Lives"). "Dark Awakening" was produced by Dean Jones, Albert T. Dickerson, Starr Jones, Liliana Kligman-Roitman, Phil Smoot and Michelle Weisler, and is represented worldwide by The Little Film Company.

JUNE 26 - "THE ALGERIAN" - Will launch beginning June 26 in ten, key markets and will add another 10 or more playdates on July 10, 2015, with additional markets added as merited. June 26 markets include New York City, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Boston, Detroit, Minneapolis, Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Atlanta. July 10 markets include Los Angeles, Dallas-Ft. Worth, San Francisco, Houston, Phoenix, Seattle-Tacoma, Portland, Denver, Cedar Rapids and Sacramento. The Algerian is a powerful, political thriller from writer-producer-director Giovanni Zelko, which explores the sensitive and timely issue of Islamic extremism. The film has garnered 27 awards or citations from 15 international film festivals, and has inspired feature stories and support from major publications ranging from the Los Angeles Times to the Huffington Post. The feature docudrama was shot on location in the Democratic Republic of Congo over a 27-week period, and chronicles the true story of naturalist Claudine André and her efforts to save the critically endangered bonobo apes. The film was directed by acclaimed French documentarian Alain Tixier, and was produced by Jean Pierre Bailly and Vivian Schilling. Voice talent includes LUKE EVANS ("Dracula Untold", "The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies") and REBECCA HALL ("Transcendence", "Vicky Cristina Barcelona"). The film is 84 minutes, and is expected to earn a PG rating. Proceeds from the film's release will benefit the World Wildlife Fund and the Lola Ya Bonobo Rescue Center.
