Academic studies show that flippers get it wrong about 52% of the time. Their buys and their sells tend to significantly lag a hold. To put it another way: The more you trade the more you lose. Over decades, traders suffer terribly as that math takes its toll.

So why do they keep flipping? 1) they don't know better; 2) they get a gambling kick out of constantly trading... a VERY expensive thrill.

I'll sell 3M when it profoundly disappoints or for a tax loss. Neither is likely soon.
