GE has underperformed the DOW, S&P, and all other indices for 6 years. While the economy began to improve GE continued to do nothing.
It used to be a bellweather but not now. It's doing nothing stock is due to it's "to late to do anything CEO Immelt". Get rid of him and you get rid of the problem.

The big buyback is meaningless without organic growth. It's a financial gimmick to offset the reduced earning that would have occurred if they left the shares in the float.
