There is one more factor affecting zinc. Zinc and silver usually occur together so either one can be a byproduct of the other in many mines, depending on the relative strength of the two markets. What I am trying to say is that you need to pay attention to both commodities to fully understand the dynamics of either, and it's probably best to throw their buddy lead in there too.

One other candidate if zinc really does take off is SVB.TO, who have a large zinc/silver deposit in a mining-friendly, non-narco district of Mexico. Note: it is a zinc oxide rather than a sulfide deposit so processing is different.

I also own shares of TV.TO, IVN.TO, and ZNC-H.V, though the latter has pretty well run out of cash so need help from the price of zinc to stay afloat.

Oh, and then there are the idiots who took over SWN.V last year and for some reason tried to sell their Nova Scotia zinc properties. Fortuantely they failed, so they might do well in spite of themselves
