Provectus expands geographic reach of key PV-10 patent • 8:14 AM

•The European Patent Office issues a notification of allowance for Provectus Biopharmaceuticals' (NYSEMKT:PVCT) patent application covering the synthetic process used to produce rose bengal, the active ingredient in its lead cancer drug candidate, PV-10. When the patent is issued, coverage should extent to 2031.
•The Japanese Patent Office issues a patent for the same intellectual property. Patent protection was established in the U.S. in September 2013.
•PV-10, currently in Phase 3 development, is an injectable formulation of rose bengal, a water-soluble xanthene dye. The FDA has designated it an Orphan Drug for melanoma and hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer).
