I don't mean to be a prune, but for some time now I have question my thoughts on organized religion and tax exemption and other such charities...WHY? They collect a ton of money for causes and never use it for such, they have big ole fat bank accounts, they holler give me!! give me!!! so we can help feed and cloth the poor, yet they spend very little of what they collect. They preach give and it will be given, they preach give, don't worry have faith and God will take care of you, then they sit on their money afraid the bank account might get a little low. I think Jesus called this hypocrisy. The Pope sit on millions & millions of $$$$ and then tells the world how selfish they are...

Example...then I will hush up----the United Methodist Church has UMCOR-----back when Katrina hit they collected lotz of money, telling the members that every penny would go for this cause. What they did was spend some (a little), the wait for the Gov't---FEMA to re-emburse them, then they would spend a little more and repeat, never loosing a dime....then they ask for volunteers to go down and work and then ask for money to help feed and house these folks...There was a church down there that set up food & shelter all at the expense of good hearted people, UMCOR who collected thousand and thousand of $$$$$ , I will quit while I am ahead....bottom line if you collect money for God's work, then for God's sake do God's work.....often the Christian community whines that they are loosing members & $$$$ like crazy.....by their fruits you will know them.

IMO come year's end and charity organizations who have not fulfilled their promises to reach out to help, then should pay taxes on what $$$$ they are hoarding.

Now! don't get me wrong, I 100% believe it is the Christian community's responsibility to step up and care for those in need. (not the gov't).. IMO....For me, before giving to God each month what I promised God I would do, I pray and talk with God about this giving.....often I make changes in where it may go, the important thing is it is not where I want it to go, it is where God wants it to go...He da man, not me. Years ago when I had money I gave a lot to good things, PLEASE notice I said "I GAVE"...one day I realized my error and started working with God and not against God....Just my opinion here, Organized religion is making the same mistake I made yrs ago....I know from experience that which is given through love and from the heart is something one will never missed....If a church preaches this, then they should step out in faith and exercise that faith and if not, then pay taxes.

just spouting off a bit
