There was a post from last year by Phin that newbies here may want to read regarding What Mark Colas response was to the GE connection. The original post was #11027

Words from Mark Cola!

I emailed him about what the latest is with GE Aviation, why we don't hear anything about the results of their JTDA, and about their progress towards commercialization in general, this is his reply:

Thank you for your continued support of Sigma Labs and its products.

Our relationship with GE Aviation could not be stronger.

We now have three systems at GE Aviation in Cincinnati, one in support of our collaborative efforts with Honeywell / DARPA and two in test and evaluation with GE. We have of course announced the efforts with Honeywell / DARPA as they have granted us permission to use their name.

GE, however, has not granted us such permission, hence any press
releases must be issued sans the GE name. We do however, include any revenues from GE, Honeywell and our other customers in our 10Q and 10K filings.

Commercialization of any product is a long and time consuming task, particularly when one's product, i.e., a real-time non-destructive inspection product like PrintRite3D, is competing with long established post-process, nondestructive inspection technologies like ultrasonics, penetrate inspection, x-ray, etc.

Also, recall that GE Aviation's initial production targets for its new LEAP engine start in 2016 and reach full production in 2020. During the preceding period, new manufacturing technologies including our PrintRite3D product must undergo extensive test & evaluation before being certified by GE and then the FAA as an approved manufacturing and inspection technologies. While these matters take time, believe me GE is painfully aware that the full-rate production deadlines don't slip.
Progress is being made.

Hopefully, in some small way this helps to make sense of our efforts to move our product offering forward as well as expand it into new markets.

Thank you again and kind regards, Mark.
