Regarding just how GE will need to utilize all manufactures this is an interesting article from last year. Different machines, different roles maybe, but to get the sheer volume of parts they are going to need the industry to step up as a whole, and fast. It feels to me that this ramp up is happening behind closed doors. If i was GE i would try keep it low key as long as possible before hitting the market with 30+ machine orders each from DDD, Arcam, EOS etc or whatever number it is. If DDD have just received an order of such magnitude that its absence in Q1 numbers was worthy of the CEO using it as an excuse for a decline in expected revenues then it would be plausible to believe that EOS (GE's largest printer supplier), and Arcam would also be working on a similar order. I am hypothesizing here but GE's ramp up is huge, it's real and its got to be happening behind the scenes now in order to fit their time frame/backlog. Should i be correct, then all that remains is for Sigma to be chosen to provide the cross-machine quality inspection software that will unite, link and standardize all GE's different AM machines. Then many of you here would be very rich indeed.

After all, the supply chain and strategy GE develops for this project will define the industry for years to come. It will absolutely set the standard.
