It's all politics. The world does not care about Russia and their falling economy and so Putin does these things to feel important again by causing unnecessary controversy. It also comes at a time where we are trying to work out this deal with Iran which in sure will ultimately disrupt talks.

Won't be a gulf war I'm sure as no one can really handle that amidst all the other world issues. It is all to cause tension.

The Middle East has always been and always will be hopeless and the center for the world's controversy. Every nation knows that and will provoke.
