Barring a significant appreciation in gas prices, the natural gas production growth in the U.S. is not sustainable. And, the first signs are here already. Natural gas production growth in Marcellus has slowed significantly lately, and the Marcellus production is expected to rise just 10 MMcf/d to 16.7 Bcf/d in May 2015, according to the latest news from EIA. Actually, it has largely plateaued, if we take into account that production in the Marcellus was 14.4 Bcf/d a year ago.
