hi, common_man .. why is knowledge from way back so revered by so many when we have so much more knowledge now? .. always wondered about taht ..

I see you as a decent, generous and trusting soul .. yet.... .. lol, you know no disrespect meant in any and all of this to you .. trust me on that .. :)

do you know who the gobblewhacker Elmer Gantry type snake oil guy at the beginning of your video is? .. i haven't yet discovered that ..

.. the guy who says all the scientific principle we have been operating on has been proven false ..
there are so many muddle headed con people out there making money from so many vulnerable and trusting people.

I think this one .. What the bleep do we know? Down the rabbit hole

is also around what your first guy was waffling about .. have you seen that one?

Some academic reaction to it .. one bit ..

Bernie Hobbs, a science writer with ABC Science Online, explains why the movie is wrong about quantum physics and reality: "The observer effect of quantum physics isn't about people or reality. It comes from the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, and it's about the limitations of trying to measure the position and momentum of subatomic particles... this only applies to sub-atomic particles—a rock doesn't need you to bump into it to exist. It's there. The sub-atomic particles that make up the atoms that make up the rock are there too." Hobbs also discusses Hagelin's experiment with Transcendental Meditation and the Washington DC rate of violent crime, saying that "the number of murders actually went up". Hobbs also disputed the film's use of the ten percent of the brain myth.

.. your first guy seems to narrow the observer to a person .. in fact, i think it's more the instrument/the
experiment which is the observer .. in case you are not sure .. hmm, don't worry so much of the math in this one ..

Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle Explained

as long as you understand that delta (the triangle symbol) x means 'change of x' and that the h/4pi on the right is a constant which does not change, the logic in his explanation hopefully will be easy for you ..

the first waffler in your video, i think, is saying that quantum physics, whatever, has shown that our perception of the world is all wrong ..
while actually our knowledge about perception and about our world is greater now than it has ever been .. which brings me back to my first ..

Why is knowledge from way back so revered by so many when we have so much more knowledge now?

My guess, actually it seems to be obvious to me, is that so many of the wandering and wondering, trusting
believers don't check facts .. don't check the pseudoscience of the Elmer Gantrys (LOL, loved him) of today

It was Plato who said, “He, O men, is the wisest, who like Socrates, knows that his wisdom is in truth worth nothing”
