It seems that the main feature of their technology is the sprayer, in that it produces micro-droplets. They are not wedded to any particular disinfectant, as they write openly:

"Steri-Phase technology can use other formulas."

So when they talk about EPA approval for the disinfectant, I think they just mean that this formula has been approved in other applications for use as a disinfectant, not that the Steri-Phase system has received EPA approval.

They don't have a patent yet for the machine, and haven't determined (apparently) what formula works best with it.
