Arsenal and Aston Villa fans expect to miss out on FA Cup final tickets

After following their respective teams through the rounds, 1,000s of Arsenal and
Aston Villa supporters will more than likely have to watch the FA Cup final on television

Loyal supporters of Arsenal and Aston Villa are braced for disappointment when the ticket allocations for the FA Cup final on May 30 are announced.

Despite both clubs easily selling out in excess of 30,000 tickets for their semi-final wins, the expectation is that the Football Association will again make only 25,000 available to the two clubs and then distribute the remaining 37,000 to what they call the ‘football family’ and Club Wembley members.

This policy prompted Ivan Gazidis, the Arsenal chief executive, to write to the FA last season to make what was an unsuccessful plea for change so that more fans of the competing clubs could be at Wembley for the showpiece match. “The balance in the FA’s allocation system is not right,” he said.

Arsenal have 45,000 season-ticket holders and a further 150,000 members and are again unhappy that so many committed fans will miss out. Villa face a similar problem of demand far exceeding supply after reaching their first FA Cup final since 2000 with a 2-1 win against Liverpool on Sunday .. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/11548197/Aston-Villa-vs-Liverpool-FA-Cup-match-report.html .

Club Wembley members then received the remaining 17,000 tickets.
