Correct - Nissan has spent many tens of millions on research, but their team was excited by Spencer's presentation.

If they were CERTAIN they could have city street autonomy by 2020 they would have just yawned and said "So what?". But they didn't.

In order to have this level of autonomy in retail on the road by 2020 they will have to start doing demo's and safety tests of the tech well before that date. IMO they have to have full autonomy for this purpose within a year and so far what I've been able to find isn't very impressive.

I don't believe that Nissan can meet their 2020 goal without SafePath navigation from GOSY.
