An important metric might be the ratio of revenue from leading edge process. What I mean is, Intel gets a very high percentage of revenue from it's latest process, at least after a year or so of manufacturing. So the capex and R&D have a fast return. What about TSMC? What percentage of their revenue comes from leading edge process where their capex & R&D expenses were highest?
