There are certain things that are a good idea for most of us.

1. Pay off ALL Debt. When (not if) the dollars gets revalued, our dollars will be worth less, but out debts will not be. See 1933 and FDR on this one.

2. For Home-owners, get a home generator with lots of fuel. We have a 10 KW generac with a 500 gallon propane tank buried. Good for at least a month.

3. Upgrade to all Energy-Star compliant appliances. It works folks.

4. Have at least a 3 month supply of cash for the bills AT HOME.

5. Grow a Garden, and have a pantry.

These are my top five ... I am looking for suggestion!!!
