Microsoft sure seems to think it's a tablet...

Looks like you completely made up that tagline. It's not anywhere on the link you provided.

What Microsoft does say is, "Get productive with the tablet that does so much more." But I think they've already shifted slightly from this positioning, given how big of a failure this device ended up being.

And that was exactly my point. As a tablet alternative to iPad, Surface RT was doomed to fail. As a Windows PC with better mobility, it has a much better chance of success.

Surface 3 Pro sold pretty well, by the way. And with the reviewers seeing the value in lower pricing with Surface 3... well, we'll just have to see.
