How far back should one go with this type of thinking? Should Egypt pay the Jews for enslaving them for 400 years in biblical times?

I loathe that thinking. Nobody can change the past and how do you come up with a dollar figure to any degree of accuracy for something like that? The entire world suffered bc of Hitler. I mean, when you think about it, the US suffered as well. How many Americans died in the WW's? Let's ask for our share as well. How is it that we prospered and Greece suffered over the years? It's not because of Hitler. It's because Greece is socialist, and we were capatilists. Unfortunately we've become quasi-socialists ourselves and are heading towards economic disaster unless we get back to the thinking that made US prosper.
