This is what long term investors expect. People have no choice but to buy in early, because the future is opaque. Advances come in fits and starts that nobody can predict, so no one can say that the stock won't continue to run, or fall. Of course, market logic says that if no breakout in the technology or sales appears, then incremental problems get magnified and overblown expectations subside and down goes the stock, no matter what the company does or is doing in the background.

Once the stock is down, however, then metrics mean a lot more. Even slight upturns in a new technology stock, can and usually does kick off another wave of rapacious buying. Thus, the more sane approach with a company like this is to just keep steadily accumulating shares. Think if it like buying f0's and 100 dollar bills at today's price, and getting that money back in just a few years. Maybe longer if the company stumbles, or shorter if the market goes wild.
