I have never shorted anything, alas, and when the guy behind IKN shorts something he tells his subscribers in his proprietary newsletter. In fact, other than Claude Cormier he is the most honourable newsletter writer I have come across in my years following the miners.
He did short GORO several times last year and did very well, though not in anywhere near sufficient size to move the market; he was just along for the ride with the big boys.
Your overemotional response indicates you have formed a strong attachment to GORO, which is a good way to lose your money. Emotions are the enemy of good investing practises, leading to bad judgments, case in point.
Speaking of emotional responses, I was sad to sell the last of my RIO shares today because I have no interest in owning shares in THO. RIO was a great company to have as the core of my mining portfolio the last number of years -- great management, great deposit, great location. There aren't enough companies like that around.
