MNTR sued in Salt Lake Federal District Court

"A Florida mother and daughter are seeking damages and punitive damages for securities fraud, conspiracy, negligent misrepresentation and bad faith from Mentor Capital, Inc. (OTCMKTS: MNTR).

"Gena and Susan Golden filed suit in federal court (March 19, 2015) against Mentor Capital and Labertew & Associate claiming that they were defrauded out of $150,000 by investing in worthless and unregistered stock that they purchased from Mentor.

"The Goldens attempted to sell shares "at several national brokerage firms, all of which refused to accept the shares without a letter from the issuer," the complaint states. "Mentor provided an issuer letter but those same brokerage firms rejected it." The Goldens say their shares are "worthless".

"Labertew and Associates made several false, misleading and inaccurate statements in its Blanket Opinion Letter knowing that potential investors such as Golden would be relying upon those statements," the lawsuit states."

Labertew and Associates have offices in Salt Lake City.
