"lack of any buying pressure"...

This is the main problem~ But why? Lack of transparency ~ Traders don't have any incentive to hit the ask to move it up...everyone wants the bid...& that create more problems: flippin', MMs manipulating, etc.

In the end: POS management needs to be more active~
