one of these days, i expect someone to come over here and thank those of us who gave decent advice when all around us, folks were saying otherwise.
but until then, i assume optimists will assume themselves virtuous and will continue to disparage simple analysis.
i'll look forward to you producing the posts in which i say what you think i have said. timewise it usually works the other way around.
someone comes across from another board, declares an inviolable truth, i and a few other folks argue otherwise, then we see what happens. it's not hindsight. it's suggesting how things actually work and considering likely outcomes. eg when someone says that because a standard is being introduced glory is imminent, i will say that we have seen many standards come and go and not to create expectations.
i look back on my track record without many regrets.
warning folks not to follow the simplistic siren songs wasn't a bad thing to do. i have opposed those with the most ironclad certainties because it was the right course to take. i don't suppose i am wiser than providence.
