Big Lots purchases and resells liquidations from any level of the retail supply chain. So, Big Lots could have acquired a supply of Monster products from a retail store that went out of business or a distributor that either went out of business or stopped distributing Monster products. Sometimes, Big Lots also ends up with specific variants of popular brands that did not sell well. So, if Monster decided to try making some cucumber cranberry flavored energy drink, and it did not sell (cause why would it?), the remaining unsold 99.5% of the production run could easily end up at Big Lots.
