.....youse Intel bulls should realize that Micron needed Intel $$$$$$$ and NOTHING else to compete with Samsung.......I'd say there is NO Intel process technology in Micron NAND and I doubt any significant other technology either. Copy Exactly in this case will be Intel copying Micron tech........

Why? Micron has a huge cash flow these days and they are already producing 16nm NAND chips. I know that memory technology is different, but there is for sure stuff that is similar to logic processes at 14nm, which Intel masters. Putting the two companies together makes technological sense and it seems to be difficult for those without a leadership logic process (Sandisk and Toshiba).

Regarding the Altera deal: I don't like it. It's till a rumor though. Altera is a great company with great products, but I doubt that Intel's management will help them with their success in the market, similar to what AMD did to ATI (ok, maybe not that bad). Altera is fine the way it is and if Intel wants influence, they should simply buy a large position of Altera stock. That should be enough.

Intel needs the money for its process technology and Altera is quite a big company to buy, even for Intel. So, no, I wish this won't happen.
