Not sure we should put Monks on a pedestal!
Let's reference God's Word and the the Holy Spirit as our source of teaching
Lot's of good people out there who teach and that is a gift from God!
Recognizing it is a gift from God and not being puffed up can be something to overcome.
Let's get back to basics here and talk about what Christ did on the cross for us and what we as followers are commanded to do...
Matthew 28:19-20
19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
