IMO this paper, published a couple of days ago is a very big deal.

What it says is the thickness of the atheromatous plaque cap, the part that separates the plaque contents from the blood flow in the artery, can be predicted with 95% certainty by the EPA/AA ratio. Patients with low EPA to AA ratios are seen to have thinner plaque caps than those with higher EPA levels. Thin caps are more likely to rupture and spill their deadly contents into the vessel.

Message, if I was running the study, I would be encouraging my loved ones to increase their EPA intake to avoid strokes and heart attacks..Hopefully some doctors will read the paper..
