When I was growing up, prairie dog colonies would take over pastures, and cattle would end up stepping into their holes... either break their leg, or get stuck and end up having to be put down. The State put out a bounty for prairie dogs... the perfect weapon was a Marlin .22 Magnum with a 4 power scope... my brother-in-law and I turned in many dozens for this bounty... part of the rule was you had to fill in the hole. As long as prairie dogs are causing loss to ranchers, they will be targeted. Find a safe place for them to build their colony.

Coyotes... We have a 45 lb. coyote, or maybe two, running wild out here in the country subdivision where I live. Early one morning one of them attacked and drug off our 8-10 lb. Chug Sugar. We love Sugar like a child. My wife came in and told me, we went out into the woods with a spotlight yelling for Sugar... no sign. But our efforts must have scared the coyote off, and about 10 minutes later she came home bleeding. The Vet bill totaled about $650, but we had our Sugar back.

I have a 20 guage Remington Wingmaster shotgun loaded and ready... If I ever see one of those coyotes on my property he is a dead son of a bitch.

Sorry folks. There are limits... those wolves you want to love could eliminate Bamby... It is a give and take.

Later and Best, bulldzr
