No self-respecting American can be against cookies, apple pie, motherhood or Chevrolet. I love cookies and pastry and candy too, but I have type 2 diabetes, so I have to use moderation.

But seriously, the Mexican diabetes organization has the goal of helping people with diabetes and part of that effort is eating healthy foods, so if they have a better cookie that has less sugar and is lower on the glycemic index, then this is a product that they should endorse. Sure, the AMD is not the FDA, but it is way more than a crumpets and tea organization.

Personally, they might do well to get Cookie Monster to be their mascot.
