Shorties also remind me of the Kasparov v. Deep Blue Game 1 back in May '97. Deep Blue could not compute the end game, even though those two passed pawns free to run towards the 8th row. Deep Blue could make some nice moves, but the end game was beyond the compute power, even though no computation was necessary for a reasonably good chess player to see that threat.

And let's face it, shorties ain't computing that far ahead.
