I have never attempted to short a penny stock, but I short big board stocks all the time. Market makers can short any stock in order to keep a controlled inventory and order flow. I have heard there may be some nefarious exchanges overseas that bypass the laws and allow traders to short OTC stocks. Like everything else in the OTC world, verification is important and that is usually what is lacking.

If there is anything you have learned through all of this, I would hope it would be that if you want to reduce your risk in the market invest in a big board and leave the OTC alone.

I dont spend energy trying to figure out who is lying on message boards. It takes too much energy and wastes my precious time.
