Hey there, General, why do you find it incredible that people travel to Thailand? Do you question that Sewer went to Jamaica or that Jeepster went to Africa? dkl to Cuba? Do you have agoraphobia and can't conceive of how anyone could leave the nest? While you'd have better luck finding me at the Sky Bar or MBK Center rather than bar hopping on Walking Street (wherever that is), I fully sympathize with Suji-kun. Complete waste of time for him to go to the science park.

However, hiring a detective agency might be trickier than he imagines. I sent an email query to one that dkl found and no response.

I'll go and take photos of WM's locked door at the Science park (nobody home guys), interview people at the build factory, hire local helpers to track down Giles and Z. That is, if folks on the board chip in $2,500 air fare for me and my wife. I don't travel without her. $1,300 for a week at the Landmark (world-class breakfast) and $300 per diem 7 days.

(Side note to Suji-jun: Bangkok PIs aren't unique for being street smart, that's what PI's are everywhere. Thailand isn't unique for "Thailand for Thais" (ever heard of Malaysia? It's codified there.) Using PIs to check out potential spouses isn't even unusual. It's not uncommon in Japan, although it's a practice among Japanese themselves, mostly to make sure the betrothed isn't burakumin or some such.)

Hey GG, apologies for all these references to places outside your village. Must really make your head spin. You've said I claim to be close to Thailand. I've said many times I live in Japan. Saying that puts me close to Thailand is like saying you live close to France.
