I'm not trying to start a rumor here, but to add a touch of common sense. It seems to me that Gaspard may not have really wanted a plant in S.C.. After all, that would have conflicted with his venture at VCOR. If Allendale had flown, eliminating VCOR as a supplier could have crippled Gaspard's Vencor business.
So, a merger might be in order soon, which would therefore resolve any conflicts of interest and hard feelings down the line.
Besides, if bio-coal/bio-char are a wave of the future, both Vega and Vencor would have to watch out as semi-separate entities. Why? one might ask.
If these little outfits of ours show good profit, what would prevent, say, Weyerhauser or Georgia Pacific from getting into the bio-business? Nothing. As giants in the wood industry, they have access to much more land and timber than little squirts do. They could build a giant bio-char/coal plant in less than a month, sell for less, and send Michael and Ron into the drink.
So, a merger might be something to consider. Big dreams talk, but big money talks much louder.
