$ LVLT. Frost & Sullivan Awards Level 3 for Best Practices in VoIP and SIP Trunking Services to Enterprises.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) access and session initiation protocol (SIP) trunking services market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Level 3 Communications with the 2015 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Line Strategy Leadership. Frost & Sullivan determined the Level 3 Voice CompleteSM solution is a sophisticated set of enterprise voice technologies that simplifies VoIP and SIP trunking for mainstream enterprises to adopt.

Level 3 Communications recognized with the 2015 North American VoIP Access and SIP Trunking Services Product Line Strategy Leadership Award
"Consolidating inbound customer calls was always something we wanted to do, but found it to be cost-prohibitive with traditional voice infrastructure," said Scott Strahler, Vice President of Infrastructure and Operations at David's Bridal. "A Level 3 SIP platform with long-distance service is the most cost-effective and efficient solution for configuring our voice services to better address our business objectives while simultaneously freeing up employees to be more responsive to customer needs."

Level 3 bundles many features and functionalities to raise the bar against its competitors. Voice Complete offers unlimited local calling and metered or prepaid long distance, as well as shared concurrent call paths, enterprise-grade disaster recovery and business continuity options, and geographically independent telephone numbers.

Level 3 also simplifies the migration process to updated technologies needed for native IP-based SIP trunks. Its primary rate interface (PRI) conducts the handoff at the core network, rather than at the edge of the customer's network. This allows customers working through an IP-enabled migration strategy to move at their own pace, without additional hardware purchases for intermediate steps.

"Along with Voice Complete, which enables unified communications solutions, Level 3 offers customers standalone enterprise voice services, hosted contact center, as well as audio, video and Web conferencing services," said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Michael Brandenburg. "Each of these positions Level 3 as a one-stop shop for enterprise communications services."

As part of the Voice Complete solutions, customers can access their domestic phone number anywhere on Level 3's network. This enables a highly mobile workforce to stay connected and ensures E911 and emergency services are available to users, irrespective of their location.

Importantly, Level 3 leverages its extensive global network to support a higher level of service for longer uptimes, which enhances its service-level agreements (SLA). Unlike over-the-top VoIP providers that offer voice service over the public Internet, Level 3's multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) and carrier Ethernet data services deliver on-network quality of service (QoS) with minimal latency.

By focusing on providing value-added services instead of commodity pricing, the company positions itself as a more compelling alternative to both incumbent carriers and over-the-top (OTT) providers in the medium-to-large enterprise space. Any product that Level 3 delivers scales to support thousands of geographically dispersed users.

Level 3 is highly focused on delivering solutions that enable enterprise customer success through efficiently growing their businesses in an inherently secure manner. This, in turn, is expected to provide the company with numerous up-selling opportunities and earn it a seat at the table for customer evaluations and requests for proposals (RFP).

"Level 3 complements its heavy investments in network architecture with proactive customer communication when inevitable outages occur," Brandenburg said. "This dedication to maintaining customer satisfaction and value has aided its continued growth in the VoIP access and SIP trunking services market."
